What is Tallow?
Tallow is a form of rendered fat, typically from cattle or sheep, that has been melted down, purified, and then solidified. It's solid at room temperature and has been historically used for various purposes such as cooking, candle making, soap making, and skin care. Unlike other animal fats like lard (from pigs), tallow is more stable and has a high melting point, making it useful for longer storage and a variety of applications. Tallow was especially popular before the widespread use of vegetable oils.
